Minster Bank Employees Donate to Mercer County Foster Care
During the month of January, Minster Bank employees raised funds for Mercer County Foster Care through the bank’s Casual for a Cause initiative. This donation reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities and making a positive impact in the lives of others.
Mercer County Foster Care, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe and nurturing homes for children in need, plays a crucial role in the community. The organization offers a range of services, including foster care placement, support for foster families, and resources for children transitioning out of the foster care system. By ensuring the every child has a stable and loving environment, Mercer County Foster Care helps to create a brighter future for the youth in our area.
The funds raised through Casual for a Cause will directly support Mercer County Foster Care’s programs and services. Employees of Minster Bank participated in this initiative by dressing casually on designated days in exchange for a donation. This effort not only fosters a sense of camaraderie among employees but also reinforces the bank’s dedication to community involvement and social responsibility.
“We are grateful to the Minster Bank employees for their generous donation to our foster care program,” stated Executive Director, Angela Nickell. “We will use their hard-earned funds to provide additional trauma response training.”
The organization was nominated by Penny Nieport, a Relationship Associate in the Minster Branch, who previously worked at the Mercer County Probate/Juvenile Court and experienced how resources for the foster program can be limited.
“I saw firsthand how hard things could be on children that were removed from their homes through no fault of their own,” said Nieport. “I worked daily with Angela Nickell and other social workers who worked tirelessly gave their personal time taking care of these kids and their families. There never seems to be enough foster parents and they are always looking for more who are willing to open their homes, even if for a brief time, especially for teens.”
