During the month of August, team members at Minster Bank raised funds for Crayons to Classrooms in Dayton through the bank’s Casual for a Cause initiative. This donation reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities and making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Since its opening in September of 2009, Crayons to Classrooms has helped ensure teachers have the resources they need to create engaging and effective learning environments for their students. Through its free store and educational support programs, the organization provides essential school supplies at no cost, reducing out-of-pocket expenses for educators while helping students succeed in the classroom. Over their 17-year history, Crayons to Classrooms has distributed more than $40 million in school supplies, making a lasting difference in countless classrooms throughout southwest Ohio.

Funds raised through Minster Bank’s Casual for a Cause initiative will directly support the Crayons to Classrooms mission, helping provide essential school supplies and educational resources to teachers and students throughout the Greater Dayton region. Through Casual for a Cause, staff members dress casually on designated days in exchange for a donation, giving teammates an opportunity to come together in support of meaningful cause sin the communities we serve.

“We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without donors,” stated Malena Ball, Marketing Manager at Crayons to Classrooms. “Teachers often purchase school supplies for their classroom and students out of their own pockets. When you support our mission, you help relieve the financial burden many teachers feel by providing them with access to free school supplies.”

Angie Winterbotham, Commercial Lender at Minster Bank, has seen firsthand the impact Crayons to Classrooms makes in local schools. Along with her colleagues in the Vandalia office, she regularly volunteers by taking home projects from the organization to complete outside of work, helping support its mission of providing essential classroom resources to educators. Reflecting on the team’s commitment to service, Angie shared, “At Minster Bank, we believe in giving back to our community not just through financial support, but also through our time and passion. Together, we’re making a difference every month, one project at a time.”
