Success Story: Milcon Concrete
Strong local businesses are built on more than concrete and equipment – they’re built on people, trust, and long-term relationships. For Milcon Concrete, those values have guided over three decades of growth, helping the company evolve from a small garage operation into a regional concrete contractor with a deep community roots and lasting partnerships.
Built From the Ground Up

Milcon Concrete was founded in 1994 by Mark Miller and Jonathon Miller in a small garage in Troy, Ohio. What began as a modest operation has grown steadily into a team of nearly 90 employees, serving customers across the region. Despite the growth, Milcon has remained true to its beginnings, continuing to work with many of the same customers it partnered with back in the 1990s.
That longevity speaks to more than just quality concrete work, it reflects Milcon’s commitment to relationships, reliability, and doing business the right way.
A Team-Focused Culture
One of Milcon’s defining strengths is its people. The company is proud to have many long-tenured employees, as a result of an intentional focus on building a positive and supportive work environment. Milcon works hard to hire motivated individuals who are eager to learn, then places them in roles where they can grow, develop, and excel.
By fostering a culture centered on quality performance and continuous improvement, Milcon has built a team that is deeply invested in the company’s success and in delivering exceptional results for customers.
Values That Drive Long-Term Partnerships
At its core, Milcon values strong, long-term business relationships over short-term gains. Rather than constantly searching for the best deal in a single moment, the company prioritizes partners who understand its business, share its financially conservative approach, and are committed for the long haul.
That philosophy is what drew Milcon to Minster Bank, and what has kept the relationship strong for more than a decade.
“Local folks from a local organization are not just important, it’s a mandatory requirement for Milcon Concrete. It reflects our commitment to the communities we serve and where our team members live.” – Mark Miller, Owner and President of Milcon Concrete
A Banking Relationship Built on Understanding
Milcon initially sought a complete banking relationship, grounded in a deep understanding of its business and industry. Over the years, Minster Bank has proven to be exactly that: a loyal, committed partner that has helped support Milcon’s growth through consistent service and shared values.
For Milcon, partnering with a local bank is fundamental to how they operate. Having local lenders who understand the construction industry and the communities Milcon serves aligns directly with the company’s commitment to its employees, customers, and neighbors.
People Make the Difference
Like any strong partnership, the relationship between Milcon and Minster Bank has been shaped by people. Mark Miller, Owner and President of Milcon Concrete, credits much of the foundation of that relationship to former Troy Branch Manager Kathy Vukovic, and former Troy Senior Commercial Lender Jerry Herbe, whose dedication and expertise left a lasting impression. Today, that legacy of service continues, with confidence that the same level of care and attention is being carried forward.
After more than 30 years in business, Milcon Concrete remains focused on steady growth, quality work, and trusted partnerships. Its long-standing relationship with Minster Bank is a testament to what’s possible when two local organizations share values, prioritize people, and invest in the future together.
