More Than a Vet Clinic: Green Valley Veterinary Care
Strong local businesses are built on more than just services and facilities. They are built on trust, compassion, and lasting relationships. For Green Valley Veterinary Care, these values have guided its growth from a small startup into a thriving veterinary practice that remains deeply connected to the community it serves.

Built on Compassionate Care
Green Valley Veterinary Care opened in May 2019 with a clear mission: to provide high-quality veterinary care while building meaningful relationships with pets and their families
The practice started with just one veterinarian and a small team of three employees. Thanks to support from the community, it has steadily grown. Today, Green Valley Veterinary Care has expanded its team, added more veterinary expertise, and introduced advanced diagnostic tools, all designed to provide comprehensive care close to home.
This growth recently led to a new, larger facility in Troy. The space was designed with both pets and clients in mind, including modern technology, improved workflow, and even a convenient drive-through pharmacy. Despite the upgrades, the focus remains the same: delivering personalized care and treating every pet like family.
A Team Approach to Better Care
At the heart of this special place is a team-focused culture. Every part of the client experience is designed to be personal, efficient, and stress-free.
Instead of a traditional waiting room, clients go directly into exam rooms. This creates a calmer environment and allows for more meaningful one-on-one interactions. Behind the scenes, the team works together to support each appointment, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish.
The practice also values employee involvement, encouraging staff to help shape workflows and protocols. This collaborative approach creates a positive work environment and ensures the highest level of care for pets.
Values That Put Pets and People First
Green Valley Veterinary Care is guided by core values that shape every interaction. The team focuses on keeping pets with their owners whenever possible and maintaining consistency in care. Clear communication and client education are central to their approach, helping pet owners feel confident and supported in every decision.

A Local Partnership Built on Trust
As the practice grew, having the right financial partner became important. That partnership started with a local connection.
“Our relationship with Minster Bank began through a local connection with Senior Commercial Lender, Joel Bopp,” Dr. Lori Mathews, Owner of GVVC shared. “We care for his family’s dogs, and through that relationship, we started discussing our future goals.”
That connection led to financing for expansion and a partnership based on shared values and mutual trust.
“We value their strong commitment to the local community and the personal relationships they foster,” she said. “Being able to text Joel directly when we have questions or need guidance has been incredibly helpful.”
Investing in the Community
For GVVC, being locally owned means more than just operating in the community, it means actively investing in it.
“As a locally owned small business, working with a locally owned bank is very important to us,” Dr. Mathews noted. “The revenue generated here is reinvested right back into the community through our team, their families, and other local partnerships.”
That shared commitment to local impact makes their partnership with Minster Bank especially meaningful.
Growing with Purpose
From a small startup to a growing, community-centered practice, Green Valley Veterinary Care continues to evolve with purpose. By staying grounded in relationships, investing in its team, and partnering locally, the practice is not only delivering exceptional care but also helping strengthen the community it calls home.
