When we talk about the backbone of our economy, we may think of large corporations and industries. But let’s not forget the heart and soul of our towns and cities: our small businesses. They provide jobs, give our communities character, and offer unique products and services that we might not find anywhere else. And guess what? There’s a day dedicated just to them: Small Business Saturday.
What is Small Business Saturday?
Small Business Saturday is an annual event held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, dedicated to supporting small and local businesses across the country. Established in 2010, it serves as a counterbalance to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which primarily benefit large retailers and e-commerce giants. On this day, consumers are encouraged to shop at small businesses, bringing vital revenue and attention to the entrepreneurs and small-business owners who bolster our local economies and communities.
